Why don’t diets work?

Perhaps you have a lot of weight to lose or perhaps you just want to trim up and lose some fat or perhaps you are somewhere in between.
Fat loss and weight loss for most people is remarkably simple process but can become very challenging. Your unconscious attitudes beliefs, thinking and habits won’t be changed by just receiving dietary advice. You have to change your thinking in order to set up the lifestyle habits and choices that will get you thin and keep you thin.
Why lose weight and fat?
Losing weight and fat not only changes your appearance but also improves your health.
Most people want to lose fat to change their appearance. This can be achieved through losing fat and gaining muscle. Some people choose a third method and that is different clothing!
Hypnosis and Weight Loss
There are only three things that influence your weight gain and fat loss. Hypnosis and NLP techniques can influence all three
- Calories in
- Energy expenditure
- Metabolism
The thing that surprises me is that nearly everybody can tell me what they are doing wrong in terms of their weight loss plans. BUT they seem powerless to do anything.
The reason why diets don’t work, ad they really don’t work most of the time, is that you are not dealing with the root cause.
The same applies to smoking and other habits.
How does unconscious process, hypnotherapy and NLP work with fat loss?
I work from Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape. If you are not within driving distance of me then I will refer you to another certified professional closer to where you live. We have representatives in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
You will see me for between two and six sessions depending on how much assistance you need.
I address weight loss and fat loss from all three pillars of my treatment philosophy
Your thinking. Your thinking creates your behaviour. Thoughts become things and actions. If you don’t control you thinking then someone else will. I use Elements of NLP and Hypnosis according to your preferences.
Your exercise. Together with a biokineticist I will set up a program which you can either do in your home gym or a commercial gym. We even offer body weight exercises and programs if you don’t want to invest in fitness equipment. Exercise is essential to healthy weight loss. Your eating habits. Rather than give you a diet I will assist you with healthy eating habits. A diet is for a few weeks or months; healthy eating habits are for life. If I believe that you are in such trouble that you need a dietician then I shall refer you to one.
Over the session we will deal with many of the following
- Eating triggers
- Effective goal setting and well formed outcomes
- Stress relief
- Craving
- Energy levels
- Beliefs and values linked to eating, food an exercise.
- Past traumas (if necessary)
Hypnosis session are encourages, however hypnosis is not a prerequisite for this program to work.
You are a result of every good and bad thing that has happened to you in your life. Your eating habits, exercise habits and thought patterns are a result of many years of programming. Bearing this in mind be easy on yourself and let change come gently. The average client spends between 4 and six sessions with me before making the permanent changes that they need.
Unlike many other therapists around the county, my sessions are uniquely tailored to your speciefic needs and circmstances.
Introduction to Hypnosis sessions are R350 and normal sessions are R500 per session. The length of session range from 60 to 90 minutes.
Double sessions are sometimes suggested, especially if you have some traumatic situation to overcome. Double sessions are discounted depending on the number of times you need to see me
Seeing a hypnotherapist is likely to have a positiveness and global influence on your life and you may find that dealing with one major underlying event may release many other things in your life. For weight management you will see me for approximately four session in the first month and thereafter have a booster session once per month until your ideal weight is achieved.
